Thousands of working-class families are set to benefit from a socialized housing project under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, which is now fast rising in General Santos City.
Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling on Tuesday inspected the first batch of house-and-lot units ready for turnover in a subdivision-type socialized housing project in General Santos City, enrolled under the Expanded 4PH.
Located in Barangay Apopong, the Deca Homes Gensan 2 will have 7,430 house-and-lot units once completed, offered under the Pag-IBIG Fund’s subsidized home loan, making homeownership more accessible to middle- and working-class in the region.

The first batch of the house-and-lot units have been completed and will be turned over to home buyers this March by Deca Homes, one of the top developers of affordable housing in the country.
According to Alexander Sotto, chief operating officer of Deca Homes, they already sold 600 units in just four months. They intend to construct 200 units per month to cope with the demand.
The project solidifies DHSUD’s commitment to expand the 4PH Program beyond metropolitan hubs, bringing dignified and secure housing to regional growth centers across the country.
Spread across 498,600 square meters, the project includes open spaces, parks, and community facilities to foster organized and livable neighborhoods.
Secretary Aliling emphasized that the project fulfills the department’s mandate to provide safe and decent housing while responding to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s call for responsive and pro-people programs for all.
“This project in General Santos City demonstrates that the Expanded 4PH Program is not limited to urban centers in Luzon. We are building communities where Filipino families can thrive, live with dignity, security, and fresh hope as directed by President Marcos Jr.,” Secretary Aliling said.
“By delivering socialized housing at a subsidized rate, we make homeownership attainable for the working class– from the minimum wage earners and low-income families. This is inclusive growth translated into real homes as envisioned by our President,” he added.
Secretary Aliling emphasized the broader social impact under the Expanded 4PH that offers a concrete opportunity for Filipino families to achieve homeownership and build stable communities.
